Different CRI values

——

There are LEDs available that have the same temperature and color but a different CRI. An increase in the CRI directly relates to a decrease of the light values emitted and therefore of the amount of light (lx). It is necessary to use a large number of LEDs, including the relevant costs and absorption needs of system (W), if you wish to create an LED lighting system with an appropriate CRI for the light levels required. This can be demonstrated by the images (left), which show the same illuminated object from a source with a low CRI (left) and with a high CRI (right).

The Color Rendering Index is therefore a very important resource for ascertaining solutions. We cannot assume that a high CRI is always the best solution for our application, considering that the value is calculated using an average of values dependent upon a limited number of potential color.
